Married, Fun and Child-free; What's it all about?

Times are a'changing. Not everyone wants to have kids these days but society still seems pretty stuck on the idea that you get married or coupled up and then pop at least a couple out. And if that's what you want to do, then great! But if it's not, it means having to spend more time than desired justifying your reasons, or nodding and smiling to the many "You'll be next"s, just to avoid having the conversation.

This blog was born out of the frustrations of being questioned about making the personal choice to remain child-free. And to the negative, incorrect stereotypes often associated with being child-free by choice*.

NO, we don't hate kids (we have many nieces and nephews as well as friends with kids that we adore).

​

NO, we've not got hearts of stone. We just don't want to have children.

​

And NO, we're not selfish. (This is the worst one). We just see having children as a lifestyle choice that doesn't appeal to us.

​

This blog is for anyone out there that feels the same and wants to hear a supportive voice (and the odd restaurant review).
